Costal Vietnam

VIETNAM

After Singapore, we boarded The Silver Seas Shadow for a nine day cruise of Vietnam.  The week before, this ship, somehow had rammed a Vietnamese freighter in Halong Bay, in the fog. Although the cruise line claimed they "brushed" the freighter, my observations (and photos) indicated otherwise.  The ship and their crew were wonderful. The food excellent and all the liquor was free.  Our Butler even served us dinner in our cabin on the nights you were supposed to wear a tuxedo to dinner.  My impression of the trip is that coastal Vietnam is quite scenic, the port cities are seriously overcrowded, quite dirty and not really places I would want to visit again.

The Food and Service were Top Notch!

I was told that there are 9 million people in Vietnam and 6.2 Million motorcycles!

This is the original CIA Building in Saigon, made famous when the last of the US troops lifted off in a helicopter from the roof.
