Life In-a-Box

After having moved the family out of the Monaco Apartment Dad and Ann had for 22 years and I lived the better part of the last 8, then returning to Reno, it occurred to me that if I simply did the same thing in Reno ~ I could possibly achieve complete freedom.
Not that these moves were anything resembling easy.....

 Before...

Forever grateful for this view and the incredible sights seen here over the years!

After...... Moved 1 container  to The States and auctioned the rest here for Dad.

My Bedroom ~ got a "little cozy" during the process!

I have owned this house for 20 years ~ Raised 2 daughters here, had a few live in girl friends and their children here and was a temporary home for a good friend going thru a "reorganization" with his wife...  Lotta history here!  My daughters are very happily married to wonderful men ~ I no longer have my aquariums, dogs, cats or plants....   It's possible.... There is a post, with photos of the before further back in this blog (can be found by searching "pets" above)

So we begin..... Gave away almost all of this... I never got rid of clothes before... Found shirts from high school!  Only one, but.....

Decided that I would just go room by room and decide, "Keep or Donate."  Hahaha  I would pick something up, relive the memory and think, well maybe I will put this in the garage and decide later....  Sorting 20+ years of your things, and the left behinds by all the others that lived here was incredibly difficult, interestingly pleasurable and time consuming!

My somewhat romantic notion of being Homeless was seriously shaken 1 time only...When I awoke with the terrifying thought, "OMG What were you thinking!"  Once I dismissed this negativity, all proceeded and the thought never came again!

Then you have the just difficult! What to do with a 2000 pound safe ~ all the guns and several thousand rounds of ammunition?

This entire process took me almost 2 months of 12 hour days....  I had to hurry, because my crews were right behind me, room by room.....

Found this in Nicole and Lukes room!

All this
effort to get to, Life in a Box!  If it wasn't going to fit in a 10 X 10 X 20 foot mini warehouse... It was donated, tossed, shipped to whomever it belonged etc...

And, there you have it.... Homeless by choice!   Now, with people I love all over the world, literally, I am free as a bird, happy as a clam and not even sure where I will be next month!
