Peter and Marlene Panholzer are longtime friends and since Peter was born and raised in Austria, he organized this trip for us. Peter Pan, as he is known, selected our overnight stops and then he and Marlene met us in Techendorf at the Genießer-Landhotel "Die Forelle"
Dad and I sat outside with a bottle of wine and watched as the locals walked by, many of them going to a youngster's birthday party nearby. The family that own and run the Moscal Locanda e Cusina Hotel and Restaurant are marvelous!
The Restaurant and food were top notch. The service and kindness of the Owner, wonderful. If you are ever near Affi, This IS the place to stay and eat!
Off to Austria, Lake Weisensee in Techendorf.
The Chef here is one of 32 members of Top Young Chefs of Europe. Meals consisted of many courses, almost like a Tastings Menu.
The Dolomite Mountain Range starts nearby, seen in the background.
The first day was warm and clear so swimming seemed to be in order
Peter, Marlene and I swam across the lake and back ~
Loving the new underwater camera!
Morning Dew and Fog
Day Two was Rain ~ Doesn't stop dedicated fisher-people! There are many species in the lake, none of which we caught. One more day of fishing and we would have done well as I discovered where the fish were... Another time. Any day on a lake is a pretty good day anyhow!
Dad and Peter watched us fishing from comfort....
Sampling various Schnapps @ 10AM ~ Why not?
Wolfhound ~ This dog walker went WHERE the Dog wanted to go.
